Quick Planning Guide Before You Contact Us
The fastest way to get a useful answer is to send a request with enough context to price and qualify the material. If you are buying reclaimed wood, tell us what the lumber needs to do. If you are selling or salvaging wood, tell us what condition it is in and how quickly it must move. Even rough information is better than none.
For Buyers
Include target species, dimensions, quantity, finish expectations, and whether the lumber is structural, decorative, or both.
For Sellers
Share photos, age of the structure, approximate board footage, and whether the material is accessible for hand removal or requires equipment support.
For Jobsite Pickup
Let us know your timeline, loading conditions, truck access, and if the wood is mixed with trash, drywall, roofing, or treated material.
Common Mistakes We Help Clients Avoid
| Mistake | What Happens | Better Approach |
|---|---|---|
| Ordering exact takeoff quantities | No allowance for defect trimming, color selection, or layout waste | Order 10-15% overage for appearance-driven reclaimed material |
| Assuming every salvaged board is structural | Some pieces are decorative only after inspection and de-nailing | Separate structural requirements from finish or accent requirements early |
| Waiting until demo day to plan salvage | Labor crews move too fast and valuable stock is damaged or dumped | Coordinate recovery before demolition mobilizes |
| Ignoring moisture and acclimation | Movement, cupping, or gaps after installation | Stage reclaimed wood correctly before install, especially indoors |
| Using vague quote requests | Back-and-forth delays and broad pricing ranges | Send dimensions, use case, quantity, and photos in the first message |
